Short answer: yes, wedding guests can RSVP inside WhatsApp without a link or a form. AisleReply sends each guest a personal WhatsApp message on the couple's behalf, the guest replies in the chat, and the answer appears on the couple's live dashboard. Meal choices, dietary needs, allergies and plus-ones are collected in the same conversation.
That is different from what most tools mean by "WhatsApp RSVP". Many services let you share an RSVP link through WhatsApp. The guest still has to tap the link, open a web page and fill in a form. Both approaches use WhatsApp, but only one keeps the whole reply inside the chat.
Sending a link on WhatsApp vs replying inside WhatsApp
Here is the difference in practice, step by step, for a guest who wants to say yes.
| RSVP link shared on WhatsApp | Reply inside WhatsApp (AisleReply) | |
|---|---|---|
| What the guest receives | A message with a link to a wedding website or form | A personal message with their name and your wedding details |
| Where they answer | On a web page, outside WhatsApp | In the same WhatsApp chat |
| What they need | A browser, and sometimes a code or their name exactly as it appears on your list | Just WhatsApp, which they already use |
| Meal choices and allergies | On the form, if the tool supports it | Asked in the conversation |
| Languages | Usually the language the form is written in | Guests can reply in 50+ languages; you read replies in English |
| Where you see the answer | The tool's guest list | A live dashboard: confirmed, declined and awaiting |
Neither approach is wrong. A link to a good wedding website works well for many couples, especially if you also want to share schedules, travel details or a gift list. Replying in the chat suits couples whose guests live on WhatsApp and are less likely to click through to a form.
How AisleReply works
- We set you up. Every plan includes done-for-you setup. You send us your guest list and event details; the AisleReply team builds the event, imports the list and sets up your questions.
- We message your guests. Each guest gets a personal WhatsApp message with their name and your wedding details. It is one-to-one, not a group chat, so nobody sees anyone else's number or reply.
- Guests reply in the chat. They answer in their own words, in their own language, and the conversation picks up meal choices, dietary needs, allergies and plus-ones.
- You watch it fill in. Every reply lands on your live dashboard. On the Standard and Premium plans, gentle reminders go to guests who have not replied, on your schedule. Essential includes one reminder to all pending guests.
- You hand over the numbers. On the Standard and Premium plans you can export a caterer-ready spreadsheet with meal choices and dietary needs.
Why not just use WhatsApp Events, polls or a group?
WhatsApp's own tools are fine for a quick yes or no. Events now include going, maybe and not going, and polls ask one question with fixed answers. For a wedding they leave gaps: there is nowhere for a guest to pick a main course, describe an allergy or give the name of their plus-one. A single group of every guest can also show everyone's phone number to everyone else, and a guest who has to decline does so in front of the whole list.
You can, of course, message each household yourself. For a small wedding that works well. Our guide on how to collect wedding RSVPs on WhatsApp includes a message you can copy. It gets harder as the list grows, because answers arrive at all hours and end up spread across dozens of chats.
Other tools that use WhatsApp
To be fair to the alternatives, here is what we found when we checked their own websites on 22 October 2026. Features change, so check each site before you decide.
- Invyt describes itself as a free RSVP tracker for any event. Hosts share an invitation by email, text, WhatsApp, QR code or a custom link, and guests RSVP from there. It can collect meal choices and allergy information and send reminders.
- Cordially Wed is a wedding texting service. Messages go out from a Cordially number and guests can reply by SMS or WhatsApp into a shared inbox. You can also add an RSVP link from a wedding website. It charges a one-time fee, listed in dollars.
- Joy offers a free wedding website with online RSVP, custom questions including meal choices, multi-event RSVPs and guest reminders. Guests reply on the website, so a WhatsApp message would carry the link.
- Google Forms is free. You share a responder link and replies can be saved to a Google Sheet. It is a form, so guests leave WhatsApp to answer.

Who replying inside WhatsApp suits best
- Guest lists where nearly everyone already uses WhatsApp, including older relatives who are comfortable with voice notes but not with web forms.
- Multicultural weddings, where guests can reply in their own language and you still read everything in English.
- Couples who do not want to build a wedding website just to collect replies.
- Couples who would rather not do the chasing themselves.
It suits you less if you want an all-in-one wedding website with a registry and schedule, or if many of your guests do not use WhatsApp. In that case a website-based RSVP may be the better fit, and that is fine.
What it costs
AisleReply is a one-off payment per wedding, with no subscription: Essential is £149 (up to 100 guests), Standard is £349 (up to 300 guests) and Premium is £599 (unlimited guests and events). See the full pricing page for what each plan includes. AisleReply is currently in private beta, and a small number of UK couples can apply for free access through the beta page.
